A person can set temperatures between 70°C to 100°C during a sauna bath, which induces a feeling of complete relaxation. In olden times, saunas were usually dug into small pits in the ground which were used mostly in the winter season. In modern infrared saunas, infrared heaters are used to provide heat radiation. Some people say that using infrared sauna increases rate of energy expenditure of the human body. Finnish saunas were made out of wood logs that used rocks to generate the steam which were heated with the help of a wood fire in a stone fireplace. The wood that would be used gave out aroma, which would be a relaxing feeling for all bathers. With advances in technology there have been many changes. Now electricity, gas or a solar system is used to generate the heat in a sauna room. Sauna tradition has been followed globally, and it is an ancient custom in Finland and in Russia. A sauna bath leads to perspiration which intends to cool down the body. At higher temperatures this can be harmful and cause burning of the skin. As such, it’s essential that the sauna arrangement is certified and safe so you don’t suffer.
